Photography for the Projects That Don't Fit a Package

Brand campaigns, openings, coffee table books, editorial series, multi-day and multi-location productions. When the brief is bigger or stranger than a standard shoot, we plan and produce it end to end.

Special Projects by Mayab MediaPhotography

Big projects fall apart in the planning, not the shooting

Some photo work doesn't fit a menu. A hotel opening that needs architecture, food, people and events in three days. A brand relaunch that needs one consistent look across web, print, ads and packaging. A book, an exhibition, an anniversary campaign, an annual report. These projects usually fail for the same reason: they get treated like a bigger version of a normal shoot, and nobody owns the plan.

The result is familiar. Too many people giving direction on set. Locations, permits and talent sorted out at the last minute. A gallery of good frames that don't add up to a story, in sizes nobody asked for. By the time the deliverables are needed, the moment to reshoot is gone and the budget is spent.

We run it like a production, with one plan and one team

We start with the outcome: what the images have to do, where they will run, who needs to approve them and when. From there we write a creative brief and a production plan that covers concept, references, shot list, locations, schedule, crew, talent, styling, permits and delivery. You sign off on the plan before anything is booked, so the shoot days are about execution, not decisions.

Because we are a marketing agency, the photos are planned with the campaign around them. If the project needs video, design, copy or paid media to launch it, the same team can handle that, so the look stays consistent from the first shot to the final ad.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot

What counts as a special project?

Anything bigger or more complex than a standard shoot: multiple days or locations, several types of photography in one project, a book or exhibition, a campaign with many deliverables, or a brief that needs real production planning. If you're not sure, tell us what you need and we'll recommend the right format.

How far ahead should we plan?

The earlier the better. Most special projects need a few weeks of pre-production for concept, locations, talent and permits. Projects that depend on a season, an event date or a specific light need even more lead time, so reach out as soon as the date is known.

How is a special project priced?

Every project is quoted from the brief. After a discovery call we send a written proposal that lists the production plan, shoot days, deliverables and usage rights, so you know exactly what is included before you commit.

Can you add video, design or ads to the project?

Yes. We're a full marketing agency, so video, design, copywriting and paid media can be planned alongside the photography. That keeps the look consistent and saves you from coordinating several vendors.

Have a project that doesn't fit a package?

Tell us about it. We'll come back with a plan, a schedule and a clear proposal.
