Salesforce & Pardot

Make Pardot and Salesforce work as one system

We configure Account Engagement and its Salesforce connector so prospects sync cleanly, scoring means something and campaign results show up where leadership looks.

Two systems, one connector, a lot of room for trouble

Account Engagement, still called Pardot by most people who use it, is powerful when it's wired correctly to Salesforce. When it isn't, things go wrong quietly. Prospects fail to sync and nobody notices. Field values overwrite each other in both directions. Leads get assigned to a rep who left last year.

Then there's the setup that never got finished. Default scoring that rewards page views from your own employees. Grading that was never configured, so every prospect looks the same. Engagement Studio programs that started strong and now send stale content to people who already bought.

Reporting suffers most. If campaigns and campaign influence aren't set up in Salesforce, marketing can't show what it contributed to pipeline, and the budget conversation gets harder every quarter.

How we approach Salesforce and Pardot

We start with the connector and the data, because everything else depends on it. Once records sync reliably and fields have clear rules, we build scoring, programs and reporting on that foundation.

01

Connector and sync rules

We review connector settings, sync errors and field-level sync behavior so each field has one source of truth.

02

Scoring and grading that agree with sales

We set scoring for interest and grading for fit, then use both to decide when a prospect becomes a sales-ready lead.

03

Engagement Studio with clear exits

Programs are built around a goal and stop when the prospect reaches it, converts or goes cold.

04

Campaigns tied to pipeline

We align Account Engagement campaigns with Salesforce campaigns so influence and source show up in standard reports.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot

Is Pardot the same thing as Account Engagement?

Yes. Salesforce renamed Pardot to Marketing Cloud Account Engagement. The product and most of its features are the same, and plenty of teams still call it Pardot.

Do you work on the Salesforce side too?

Yes, as far as marketing and lead management reach. That covers lead and contact fields, assignment, campaigns, campaign influence, reports and dashboards. For deep custom development in Salesforce we'll work alongside your admin or developer.

Our scoring is useless. Can you fix it without starting over?

Often, yes. We look at which activities currently earn points, compare scores to deals that actually closed, and adjust. If grading isn't set up at all, that's usually the biggest missing piece.

Should we switch from Pardot to HubSpot?

Sometimes, but not by default. If Salesforce is your CRM and the team is invested in it, fixing Account Engagement is usually cheaper and less disruptive than a migration. We'll give you an honest read on both options.
